Beowulf is the heroic name of Beowulf Johansson, member of the Argonauts.

Beowulf was born in Malmö, in the Götaland region of Sweden. His parents named him after the legendary Geatish warrior, Beowulf, without any knowledge of the great strength their son would possess. While on a trip to Denmark, a mutated reptilian of unknown origin attacked the tour group that Beowulf's family was with. Beowulf, then only 10 years old, physically blocked the creature from his parents. To the astonishment of all present, the young child killed the creature with his bare hands. Seeing it as fate for their child named Beowulf to have the strength of the fabled warrior, the Johanssons had their son apply to several superpowered boarding schools around the world. Out of several offers, including Hero High in New York City, he chose Poseidon Prep.

Powers and abilitiesEdit

Beowulf is one of the strongest underclassmen at Poseidon Prep, with the ability to press over 15 tons. His immense strength has also inured him to most forms of physical damage. He is particularly resistant to cold damage.

Wrestling. Beowulf is the strongest member of Poseidon Prep's Wrestling team. But his best friend Kid Olympus possesses greater speed and agility, which has kept Beowulf as 2nd seed.

Though born in Sweden, Beowulf has spoken English since he was old enough to watch American TV. Except for when he is speaking Swedish to family members on the phone, Beowulf sounds and acts like any other typical American jock. He sometimes acts meaner than he really is, often due to the influence of his best friend, Kid Olympus.
